I'm still adjusting to the fact that Summer is on its way in and all of us here in The Cape know that it is coming hard and fast. In the last few years I have got into the habit of seeing Winter as one long excuse to indulge in cheat meal to my hearts content. But with bikini's, beach days and the general nakedness that goes hand-in-hand with the warmer months, it has finally dawned on me that I should start curbing my wiles and make provisions to change my evil ways before it's too late and the guilt sets in and I have to sit out of the (tastefully) flesh-baring months ahead.
With that in mind, I felt that I could not say good-bye to the safety of winter wear without a final serenade. It needed to be a ravishing last affair and so I turned to the Queen of unbridled decadence - Nigella Lawson.
I do love her book, How to be a Domestic Goddess, so much so, that it was on our wedding wish list from YuppieChef. Thankfully I have aunts with equally great taste and the wish was granted! I pour over the images and read her quirky, British slurs with an almighty appetite. Her recipes are on the sweet and lardy side, but I do love the tone of her words. Or perhaps its merely my soft spot for the British accent that makes words like "socks" and "scallywag" sound so much more appealing than they actually are.

So, to officiate the end of Winter and my commitment to myself, I began today with a run. And I am thrilled to report back - It was glorious! So here's to being Beach Ready without rabbit food *fingers crossed*
