WIN a case of Shiraz from Caroline's Wine Warehouse

Every so often I get an email that makes me think "I would want to win this". This was one of them...

"Caroline Rillema is the “Grand Damme” of South African wine and sells high quality wine from her stores in the V&A Waterfront and in the Cape Town CBD.  In December, she launched Caroline’s Wine Warehouse - A website that sells affordable, everyday wine.

To stand a chance of winning a case of marvellous wine from Caroline’s Wine Warehouse, you need to come up with a fabulous food and wine pairing for a Shiraz. Post your pairing ideas as a comment to this blog post."

When thinking of pairings remember that Shiraz is a gutsy varietal with decided tanins. It's spicy with bold, unapologetic flavours that go well with game, stews and rich red meat dishes. Caroline's Wine Warehouse will post the best pairing ideas to their Facebook pageso my advise would be to conjure the ideas with a glass of Shiraz in hand. But that might just be me.

I will announce the winner on Twitter (@LadyK_za) on  Monday, 28 November. 'tis the season to be folly, yes?

PS: if you sign up for their newsletter, they might throw in a second case of Shiraz.

  2. Great competition! I have enjoyed many of a deep glass of Shiraz with a crispy, thin-based wood-fired pizza (complements the smokiness), spread with a tangy tomato base and topped with thick slices of spicy, pan-fried chorizo, earthy black mushrooms, and finished with loads of cracked black pepper!
