Peanut Butter Natter

There was once a time when I didn't like peanut butter. Not quite sure what my association with it was but it all changed when I attempted one of those "fool proof" 3 Day Diets sanctioned by some glossy mag in matric (days before the dance, of course).

Day 1 - Breakfast
1/2 a grapefruit (another flavour my palate was not akin to)
1 slice brown/whole wheat toast
2 T peanut butter

It was the worst breakfast combo I could think of- a veritable hell to my naive 17 year old mind. To cut a long story short, I never made it passed Day 1 of said diet and ended up re-starting the process countless times. I re-hashed that breakfast to the point that I now LOVE grapefruit and peanut butter. There's something magical that happens to your taste buds when you have a spoon of tart citrus and then bite into the roof clotting joy of the peanut butter. *swoon*

Since then, I have indulged my fixation with this butter born out of the peanut massacre by eating it in, with and as ice cream, on toast with slices of tomato and cracked black pepper (try it before you mock it) and in virtually every other type of cookie, cracker and idle spoon I could get my hands on. The only constant being my choice. The choice of all that is good in the world - Crunchy.

And to those unsanctimonious wretches who enjoy the smooth variety, we're watching you.
