Game Food Co Launch with Neill Anthony

I'm not sure if any of you have noticed that Game (think pink) has recently incorporated a food offering to their N1 City and Canal Walk stores in Cape Town. Their launch was last week and our friendly friend Neill Anthony was the chef de jour.

As always, Neill's food was sublime! We started with rounds of pork sausage topped with an Olive Oil Moussaline and a piece of apple. There is something special about pork bangers that embalm a person in that Sunday feeling. They're always great with a crisp bite of caramelised exterior followed by juicy plumpness!

The porkies were proceeded by a Butternut Cappuccino with bread spoons (yes, spoons made out of bread) with an Avo emulsion. Neill's theory is that it's the butter that makes this shot of soup so luxurious. And in case you were wondering, Neill was right! The final course was braised lamb neck in a tomato chutney with a pea mousse and served in a martini glass, just for a spot of glitzy flare from our descendant of the "Diamond Geezer"

The store itself was impressive in that Game is now stocking a variety of fresh foods, frozen meats and pre-packaged bread and not to mention the selection of branded edibles, which according to them comes in at a whopping 15 - 20% cheaper than other food chains. So if you find yourself in that neck of the hood, I would suggest trying out a Food Co for your monthly shopping, otherwise, I think I'm more of a Woolies girl.
